Arlington poet Yessenia Arias’ poems are in our current exhibit Hope Without Boundaries, but they are from her exhibit at Studio PAUSE (Buckingham), from 2016, which are part of our Studio PAUSE Community Art Collection. When she saw her work from back then, this is what she had to say:
“Reading some of my poems from the past was an unexpected gift. To revisit old poems, ones which I carry with me so tightly and ones which I had forgotten about, was a powerful reminder of the magic of writing. I felt comfort in seeing some of what I had written still resonated with me today. I also felt relief in seeing some of those things no longer connected with me. To write is to offer oneself space to explore and voice truth. Sharing those words with others allows it to breathe new life and take on a new form.”
As she continues to write and encourage others to do the same, we invite you to join her.
