Art Chocolatada y Paneton with Sarah Manrique Chiriboga

  • Studio PAUSE on Columbia Pike 4710 Columbia Pike Arlington, VA, 22204 United States (map)

Barcroft Apartments resident Sarah Manrique Chiriboga was inspired by our recent “Poetry and Tea” event with Ruben Sira, also a Barcroft Apartments resident! And, both of their works are featured in our current exhibit, Hope Without Boundaries.

As it was her first oil pastel artwork, she wanted to share art from her native Peru and combine it with their tradition of having hot chocolate with Paneton, a special Peruvian version of a fruit cake eaten during the Christmas season. From her recent travel to Peru, she brought back art to inspire our art-making, as well as a special set of color pencils connected to her childhood, something Ruben and Sarah discussed in the earlier poetry session!

Join us for our last event of the year, make art, and enjoy a beloved Peruvian experience from Sarah’s childhood.

We have a Pay What You Wish policy – you can pay by cash, check, or PayPal in-person at the Studio, or pay in advance via PayPal to “Sushmita Ideas & Designs”. (Event is free for residents of Barcroft Apartments.)
