In November 2023, artist and PAUSEr Sharmila Karamchandani created a rangoli (sand painting) outside the gate of the residence of Madam Vice President Kamala Harris in celebration of Diwali. Listen to her story and then color in sections of her design. We will put all sections together to make a community rangoli!

Also, meet Alexandria artist Nina Tisara and see how Sharmila’s design inspired her mosaic. Lastly, make a rangoli book using colorful handmade papers with book artist Sushmita Mazumdar.
