Solo Shows at Studio PAUSE, in Buckingham
Since the Studio opened in 2013, we have had many solo shows here. We started at our first location in South Arlington and then continued at our second location in Buckingham, in the Rinker Community Center at the Gates of Ballston apartment complex.
But the pandemic changed all that. Exhibit receptions and sessions moved online. Then, in 2022 we started creating community exhibits off-site, and in 2023, we curated group shows at the new Columbia Pike Studio. The solo shows took a back seat.
But in 2026 we have a full year of solo shows at the Studio in Buckingham! Check them out below and join us!
June - August 2026
People’s Park Myriorama Deck

The People’s Park Myriorama Deck depicts aspects of a place sometimes narrowly identified as Lafayette Park, but really best known as the People’s Park. This is a landscape that demands a decentralized history, guided by empathy, subjectivity, and experience-based description. These are not the stories that flow from the top down. These are the stories that flow through all of us, narratives that defy suppression, even as the most powerful gatekeepers of the White House seek to dam their passage. This deck tells our story, the People’s History, through the myriad pieces that make up our Park. The cards of the People’s Park Myriorama Deck can be rearranged, subtracted, and added. This concept is adapted from a 19th century parlor amusement for appreciation of picturesque landscapes. However the cards are configured, they tell a true story, they proclaim our history.

The whys and wherefores
“At a certain point in our lives we all become aware of death as a concept. Sometimes it is connected to the death of someone close to us. We also at some point become aware of the large-scale reality of death, connected to political and or historical contexts. From whatever onset point, the reality of death becomes inescapable, yet eerily opaque. This show is the result of death becoming a recurring experience in my life over the past decade and a half.”

LouLou returns to mark-making in this new body of work created over the past year and a half, with a bolder exploration of marks and materials, collage and color, books and banners. The work traces themes of chaos, change, and identity.
